Liam Hackett OBE set up the global youth charity in 2005 as a teenager from his bedroom to help 12-25 year olds who are struggling with things like mental health, relationships, bullying or identity.
Eighteen years later, the team in Brighton were outgrowing their office in a purpose built block. The team really wanted their own building and control of the common ways and for the space to be an improved healthier experience for the team and visitors - to echo the wellbeing ethos of the charity. I was brought in at this point to look at the feasibility of a building they'd found. Together we worked out the concept, layout and initial coatings and the management team designed to go ahead with the move.
Reused items and healthy specifications support the multipurpose spaces which include a wellness area on the top floor with seaside views and terrace.
